Earthquake details
An earthquake of magnitude 5.6 hit Western Bulgaria, on May 22nd, 2012, 25km south west of the bulgarian capital, Sofia. This shallow earthquake was largely felt in the region and up to Greece and Macedonia. No severe injuries have been reported so far, though a state of emergency was declared in Pernik (the closest city to the epicenter) and superficial damages were observed.
